La Casa Continua

La casa continua, by Isabel Navarro, originates from a simple yet profound question: What is it that makes you belong to a place?

Together with her family, the author has moved from one country to another over the years, forming bonds with objects and family rituals that transform and evolve depending on the space and time in which they take place.

This book reflects on the construction of a family through these continuous relocations, which gradually shape the identities of each of its members and their place in the world.

The photographs that make up the project were taken between 2021 and 2025 in different homes and landscapes, during the author’s stays in Bristol (England) and Bologna (Italy).

An intimate and poetic archive that approaches belonging not as a point of arrival, but as a process in constant transformation.

Isabel Navarro (Valparaíso, Chile, 1978) is a graphic designer and photographer.

She holds a degree in Graphic Design from the University of Valparaíso, a master’s degree in Heritage and Historical Archives from the University of Avignon, and a postgraduate degree in Management, Preservation, and Dissemination of Photographic Archives from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She has further developed her photographic practice through various workshops and at the photography school La Máquina (Spain).

Her work is primarily produced using analog photography, working with medium format (120) and 35 mm film, and focuses on long-term processes connected to territory, memory, and everyday experience.

In 2025, she was selected to exhibit at the 11th International Photography Festival of Arica (Chile).

She currently lives in Italy with her family, where she works independently on photographic projects.
